LC Volleyball Defeats VWC in Four in ODAC Tourney
Advances to Semifinal Matchup With Roanoke Saturday

    ROANOKE, VA - Sophomore Elena Kritter (Culpeper, VA/Rappahannock) delivered 13 kills and 15 digs Friday evening as the third-seeded Lynchburg College volleyball team defeated #6 Virginia Wesleyan College 25-22, 25-13, 10-25, 27-25 in the first round of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championship Tournament.

    Senior libero Savannah Tinsley (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) had 22 digs and two service aces and Brooke Moughon (Mathews, VA/Mathews) had a team-high 21 assists. Michelle Boucher (Chesapeake, VA/Nansemond Suffolk) blasted 11 kills and Jasmine Murphy (Shipman, VA/Nelson County) added 12 digs. Rebecca Loftis (Coventry, CT/Coventry) contributed six kills and four blocks and Chelsea Jones (Richmond, VA/Monacan) had eight kills.

Lynchburg (20-7) faces Roanoke College Saturday at 11 a.m. in the tournament semifinals, hosted by Hollins University. The seventh-seeded Maroons upset #2 Washington & Lee University in five sets earlier in the day, breaking an eight-year General stranglehold on the ODAC crown.
