Student Center

When students and alumni talk about Lynchburg College, they often use the word "family." And when you have a big family like ours, you need a big house. During the most recent strategic planning process, we took stock of our physical facilities and realized that our "house" has many great places to work but not enough places to play. As Dean of Students John Eccles puts it, "We have a lot of small areas where students can hang out, but not a big one where they can congregate and participate in activities, and where ideas can bubble up and germinate."

With the planned expansion of the student center, all that will change. A major addition will bring to life a student wish list that includes an open lounge area, expanded bookstore, enhanced dining facilities, and meeting areas for student groups. Huge windows and a terrace off Burton Dining Hall open up exhilarating views of campus and the Blue Ridge Mountains, and an elevator will ensure access for all.
