Lynchburg Equestrian Wins UVa Show
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - The Lynchburg College equestrian team had an outstanding show in Charlottesville this weekend as they were the high point team at the University of Virginia. The Hornets defeated several ODAC foes in Hollins, Sweet Briar, Bridgewater, Washington & Lee, and Randolph.
Caroline Thompson (Fredericksburg, VA/James Monroe) won the walk trot canter event while Drew Nichols (Frederick, MD/Governor Thomas Johnson) and Krissy Guthrie (Glenmore, PA/Downington) each also took first place respectively in walk trot and intermediate fences. Rachel Jones (Toana, VA/Warhill) garnered second-place honors in novice fences. Jordan Rooney (Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo) placed fourth in the open flat, Kelly Gerland (Malvern, VA/Great Valley) earned a fourth place finish in open fences, and Emily Eckenberger (Weston, CT/Weston) finished fifth in novice flat.
Lynchburg returns to the barn on November 20 as they host an In-House Horse Show at 4 p.m.
