Brittany KlippsteinLYNCHBURG, VA - Sophomore midfielder Brittany Klippstein (Springfield, VA/West Springfield) broke a scoreless tie over 75 minutes into play at the Lynchburg College women's soccer team defeated Randolph-Macon College 2-0 in the quarterfinals of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament. The Hornets, seeded #3, will travel to Lexington, VA, on Wednesday to play #2 seed Washington & Lee in the semi-finals.

Despite a 10-0 Hornet shot advantage, the contest was scoreless at intermission. Following a Yellow Jacket foul, a Kristen Melchiori (Chantilly, VA/Chantilly) cross found Klippstein for the game-winning goal at the 75:31 mark. Freshman Jessie Gonzalez (Springfield, VA/West Springfield) headed in a corner kick from Ashley Hoath (Alexandria, VA/Mount Vernon) with 10 minutes left to close out the scoring.

The Hornets held a commanding 31-1 edge in total shots and also had an 8-3 edge in corner kicks. Mary Jocelyn made 10 stops for Randolph-Macon (11-6).

Game times for the semi-finals is to be announced.
