Hornets Defeat Ferrum in Four

            LYNCHBURG, VA - Junior outside hitter Michelle Boucher (pictured - Chesapeake, VA/Nansemond Suffolk) slammed 19 kills Thursday evening as the Lynchburg College volleyball team defeated Ferrum College 25-23, 20-25, 25-19, 25-23 in non-conference play.

        Michelle Boucher    Freshman Brooke Moughon (Mathews, VA/Mathews) recorded 24 assists and eight digs, Rachel Turk (Salem, VA/Salem) tallied 18 assists and Savannah Tinsley (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) had a team-best 18 digs. Rachel Huffman (Virginia Beach, VA/Bayside) had 10 kills and Rebecca Loftis (Coventry, CT/Coventry) and Elena Kritter (Culpeper, VA/Rappahannock) each had seven kills.

            Lynchburg (19-7) is off until next weekend's eight-team Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament, hosted by Hollins University. LC, the #3 seed, is slated to battle #6 Virginia Wesleyan College Friday evening at 6:30 p.m.
