International Students

All students who completed their undergraduate degree at a non-U.S. institution must submit all application materials, which include the following:

  1. Three letters of recommendation;
  2. Personal essay;
  3. A professional portfolio for M.A. in music candidates;
  4. An interview with faculty for the M. Ed. in counseling;
  5. Banker's Letter;
  6. Certificate of Finances;
  7. Appropriate test scores (GRE or GMAT);
  8. TOEFL;
  9. Official transcripts*.

*Lynchburg College requires international students to furnish verification of the B.A./B.S. equivalency of their academic record (e.g., through an international transcript assessment service). For students for which the distribution of courses is not essential for admissions into, and course planning for, a graduate program, such an analysis only must confirm that the individual received the equivalent of an American four-year (B.A./B.S.) degree from his/her home institution. In some instances (e.g., teacher licensure), the more detailed course-by-course analysis will be required.

Nonresidents must submit all application materials at least three months prior to the beginning of the term or semester for which admission is sought.

Degree admissions decisions are based on the careful consideration of all required admissions components. The focus of the admission committee’s review is on an evaluation of an individual’s likelihood of success in one of our graduate programs.
