Hornets Upend EMU 3-0 as Klippstein Nets Hat Trick

             LYNCHBURG, VA - Sophomore midfielder Brittany Klippstein (pictured left - Springfield, VA/West Springfield) posted a hat trick Saturday evening as the Lynchburg College women's soccer team breezed to a 3-0 victory over Eastern Mennonite University in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.

            Klippstein opened her scoring barrage at the 7:35 mark on an assist from senior Ashley Hoath (Alexandria, VA/Mount Vernon), and followed at 13:09 with her second tally from Kristen Melchiori (Chantilly, VA/Chantilly). Klippstein used her head to complete the hat trick on a cross from junior Lauren Hammond (Chattanooga, TN/Girls Prep) midway through the second half.

Keeper Abby Diffenbach made 12 saves for EMU (6-10/3-6 ODAC). LC out shot the Royals 29-1 and held a 15-1 edge in corner kicks.

The Hornets (12-2-3/8-1-1 ODAC) host Randolph-Macon College Wednesday at 6 p.m. in more conference action.
