BOX SCORE

Donald Hart IIILYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg College men's soccer team downed visiting Randolph-Macon College 3-0 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) matchup on Saturday afternoon.

The game was plagued with heavy rainfall and high speed winds, but Lynchburg was able to get on the board early as Donald Hart III (Springfield, VA/Paul VI) scored off an assist from Stephen Legg (Newport News, VA/Denbigh Baptist) in the sixth minute. Ryan Renfro (Forest, VA/Brookville) added an insurance goal in the 26th minute off a Cam Smith (Goode, VA/Jefferson Forest) pass, and Kyle Symczak (Woodbridge, VA/Woodbridge) concluded the scoring off a feed from Josh Reed (Newark, DE/Caravel Academy) in the 42nd minute.

Randolph-Macon had a few good scoring opportunities in the second-half but a solid performance in net by Matt Strudivant (Bear, DE/Caravel) denied the Yellow Jackets of any goals. LC (13-1-2/7-0-2 ODAC) outshot R-MC (2-11-3/2-6-2 ODAC) 25-9 and held a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks. Jason DePre tallied three saves for RMC while Sturdivant posted four stops.

Lynchburg concludes the regular season on Tuesday as they travel to Virginia Beach, VA, to battle the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan College at 7 p.m. The game will be the final piece in determining the top three spots in the upcoming ODAC Tournament.
