Hornet Volleyball Drops Five-Set Heartbreaker at Va. Wesleyan

            VIRGINIA BEACH, VA - The Lynchburg college volleyball team fought back from two sets down but fell in five games at Virginia Wesleyan College Wednesday evening. The Marlins took the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match 25-23, 28-26, 23-25, 18-25, 15-10.

            Senior libero Savannah Tinsley (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) led the squad with 33 digs, and Brooke Moughon (Mathews, VA/Mathews) tallied 27 assists and 12 digs. Elena Kritter (Culpeper, VA/Rappahannock) slammed 18 kills and added 22 digs, Rachel Turk (Salem, VA/Salem) had 27 assists and nine digs while Rebecca Loftis (Coventry, CT/Coventry) and Chelsea Jones (Richmond, VA/Monacan) recorded 11 and 10 kills respectively.     

The Hornets (16-7/7-2 ODAC) host the University of Mary Washington Saturday at 1 p.m. in turner Gymnasium. The team's two seniors will be recognized on Senior Day before the match.
