LC Riders Blow Past Top Competition

LC Riders Compete at Hollins Show

 Hollins ShowROANOKE, VA - The Lynchburg College Equestrian team was reserve high point team behind the show's host, Hollins University, this past Sunday.  The Hornets left Bridgewater College, James Madison University, Longwood University, Radford University, Randolph College, Sweet Briar College, UVA and Washington & Lee all in the dust with their strong finish.

Junior Drew Nichols (Frederick, MD/ Gov. Thomas Johnson) improved on his second place finish at Randolph in the walk-trot to take first place at Hollins.  Freshman Caroline Thompson (Fredericksburg, VA/ James Monroe) also received a first place finish in the walk-trot-canter. 

Kelli Greenslade (Bowie, MD/ Bowie) brought home second in the advanced walk-trot-canter,  Taylor Fellows (Charlottesville, VA/Western Albemarle) finished second in the intermediate flat, and Rachel Jones (Toano,VA/Warhill) took second in the novice over fences. 

Other noteworthy finishes were Kelly Gerland's (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) third place finish in the intermediate flat, Krissy Guthrie's (Glenmore, PA/ Downingtown) third place finish in the novice flat, and Jamie Carille's (Virginia Beach, VA/Frank W. Cox) third place finish in the novice flat.

The Hornets travel to Bridgewater, VA on Saturday, October 31 to compete at the Bridgewater College Intercollegiate Horse Show Association competition.
