Senior Michael Butzgy (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place) won his first collegiate golf tournament last Monday, as he shot a three-under par 141 over the two-day Virginia Intercollegiate Tournament held at the par-72 Wintergreen Resort to snatch the golfer of the week award. Butzgy fired a second-round 71 to clinch the win, as he held off Max Wyndorf from Randolph-Macon College. Butzgy opened the tournament with a round of 70, which was the best 18 holes of the two-days. The round of 70 was also his low round of the season, and tied for his best time out as a Hornet.
