LC Riders Compete in Third Show of the Fall Season
Kelly Gerland Takes First Place in the Intermediate Flat
LYNCHBURG, VA - Nine members of the Lynchburg College equestrian team competed Friday at the Randolph show.
Sophomore Kelly Gerland (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) seemed to pick up right where she left off last year with a strong showing on Friday taking first place in the intermediate flat. Drew Nichols, (Frederick, MD/ Gov. Thomas Johnson) who is in his first year of competing on the LC Equestrian team, placed second in the walk trot.
Krissy Guthrie (Glenmore, PA/ Downingtown) finished third in intermediate fences, Emily Eckenberger (Weston, CT/Weston) took third in novice fences, and Kelli Greenslade (Bowie, MD/ Bowie) brought home third in the advanced walk-trot-canter. Others placing were Jordon Rooney, (Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo) who finished fourth in the open flat, and Caroline Thompson (Fredericksburg, VA/James Monroe) finishing sixth in the advanced walk-trot-canter.
The Hornets travel to Bridgewater, VA on Saturday, October 31 to compete at the Bridgewater College Intercollegiate Horse Show Association competition.
