SALEM, VA - The 25th ranked Lynchburg College men's soccer team battled Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) foe Roanoke College to a double overtime scoreless draw in conference action from Salem, VA.

Each team had several good chances to score on wild scrambles in front of the net, but timely team saves, deflections, and saves thwarted every scoring opportunity. Perhaps the best scoring opportunity came in the first extra session as a Maroon fired off a shot high toward the net for a sure fire goal, but Lynchburg goalkeeper Matt Sturdivant (Bear, DE/Caravel) made a miraculous game saving save to deflect the ball just high if the net.

Lynchburg (11-1-2/5-0-2 ODAC) outshot host Roanoke (10-3-3/6-0-1 ODAC) 11-8 while each team registered four corner kicks. Roanoke keeper Ryan Russell tallied eight saves while Sturdivant posted three.

Lynchburg travels to Hampden-Sydney, VA, to face the Tigers of Hampden-Sydney College in a pivotal ODAC matchup on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
