BOX SCORE

EMORY, VA - The LC men's soccer team pushed its undefeated streak to eight games on Tuesday night as the Hornets defeated the Emory & Henry College Wasps 3-0 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action.

Michael Abbonizio (Maple Glen, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) got the Hornets on board in the seventh minute as he kicked a Stephen Legg (Newport News, VA/Denbigh Baptist) pass into the back of the net. The Wasps kept LC in check for the rest of the half, but LC tacked on the insurance goal as Pat Brown (WIlliamsburg, VA/Christchurch) scored in his third consecutive game to push the lead out to 2-0. Shawn Bender (Virginia Beach, VA/Bayside) then added on the third goal off a Tony Dulak (Dumfries, VA/Forest Park) assist.

Lynchburg (10-1-1) outshot Emory & Henry (2-10/0-5 ODAC) 25-8 while each team had three corner kicks. Daniel Mills tallied seven saves for E&H, which had nine saves as a team, while Matt Sturdivant (Bear, DE/Caravel) notched three saves for LC as the team recorded for stops.
