Lynchburg Golfers Play at Ted Keller Invitational GLEN ALLEN, VA - The Lynchburg College golf team competed in the Ted Keller Invitational Saturday, hosted by Randolph-Macon College at par 72, 6,882 yard Hunting Hawk Golf Course. Lynchburg currently sits in 11th place after day one, after shooting a 27-over 315.
The Hornets were paced by the hot play of senior
Michael Butzgy (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place), who shot a two-over 74 on the afternoon. Junior
Joey Brunet (Virginia Beach, VA/Kellum) carded a 77 (+5) on the afternoon, while sophomore
Conrad Anguera (Lynchburg, VA/Carlucci Amer. Int.) booked an eight-over 80.
Newcomer
Santi Anguera (Lynchburg, VA/Carlucci Amer. Int.) finished with an 84 (+12), while the Hornets total was rounded out by the 88 of
Augie Camacho (Suffolk, VA/Lakeland).
Dusty Scott (Ivor, VA/Tidewater Academy) competed as an individual, and shot a blistering 74 for a round of two-over.
Christopher Newport University currently sits in first place after day one of competition, as the Captains turned in a 292. Mike Redwood of Bridgewater College and Mike Redfern of Susquehanna University each shot one-under, 71's to sit atop the leader board after day one.
The final round of the Ted Kellar Invitational is tomorrow afternoon, Sunday, at Hunting Hawk GC.
