LC Volleyball Takes Down Randolph-Macon College in Five Games 

                LYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg College volleyball team moved into sole possession of first place in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Saturday, as the Hornets won the last two sets to defeat Randolph-Macon College 3-2 in play from Turner Gym.

Savannah Tinsley contributed 23 digs in LC's huge win Saturday.                Lynchburg (12-5/5-0 ODAC) won the first game 25-20, but fell 25-18 and 25-20 in the next two games to fall behind a set. The Hornets battled back winning game four 25-17 and taking the deciding stanza 15-13. With the win, the Hornets now stand atop of the conference standings as the lone undefeated squad in the ODAC.

                LC was paced by Elena Kritter (Culpeper, VA/Rappahannock), who finished with a team-high 16 kills to go with 19 digs. Freshman Rebecca Loftis (Coventry, CT/Coventry) chalked up 12 kills in 19 attempts to bolster her league-leading hitting percentage, while Michelle Boucher (Suffolk, VA/Nansemond Suffolk) finished 11 attack attempts on the afternoon.

                Senior Savannah Tinsley (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) posted a team-high 23 digs and three service aces for Lynchburg, and Brooke Moughon (Mathews, VA/Mathews) finished with 26 assists. Freshman setter Rachel Turk (Salem, VA/Salem) also helped LC's total of 52 assists with 24 on the afternoon.

                The Hornets continue their difficult conference stretch Wednesday night with a battle against the Generals of Washington & Lee University at 6:30.
