Lynchburg Golf Finishes Play at the Hampden-Sydney Invitational
H-SC Invitational Final Results
FARMVILLE, VA - The Lynchburg College golf team finished play at the Hampden-Sydney Invitational Tuesday, as the Lynchburg "A" team finished tied for eighth while the LC "B" team took home tenth place. The tournament was played at The Manor Golf Resort on a par-72 course.
The Hornets "A" team improved by ten shots on the second day of the tournament, shooting a 339. The "A" team was paced again by Conrad Anguera (Lynchburg, VA/Carlucci Amer. Int.) and his eight-over 80. Anguera finished tied for 10th on the tournament, while Augie Camacho (Suffolk, VA/Lakeland) was the next best Hornet finisher with a total of 170 (86-84) over the two days for 29th place.
Santi Anguera (Lynchburg, VA/Carlucci Amer. Int.) shot an 88 both days to finish with a 176, and teammates Matt Lipscomb (Alexandria, VA/Hayfield) and Jacob Trent (South Boston, VA/Halifax Co.) carded rounds of 87 and 93, respectively. The Lynchburg "B" team was led by freshman Daniel Bost (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) and his Tuesday round of 83.
Junior Danny Hamblen (Oakton, VA/James Madison) finished with an 181 (86-95) for 48th place, while Sam Musselman (Mechanicsburg, VA/Cedar Cliff) and Dusty Scott (Ivor, VA/Tidewater Academy) each finished with a 38-over 182. Lynchburg "B" was rounded out by Jon Moneyhon (Dahlgren, VA/King George), who shot nine strokes better Tuesday with a 90.
Christopher Newport University, Randolph-Macon College and Hampden-Sydney College tied for the tournament title, as all three teams carded two-day totals of 649. Trae Kresinske won the individual title with a seven-over 151, while Chris Olsen of Christopher Newport and Josh Weigand of Shenandoah each shot tournament low rounds of 73 Tuesday.
Lynchburg is back on the links October 3 and 4 in the Ted Keller Invitational, hosted by Randolph-Macon College, on the Hunting Hawk Golf Course.
