LC's Allie Weir Takes Home Player of the Week Honors

SALEM, VA - Lynchburg College field hockey star Allie Weir (Richmond, VA/James River) picked up her second Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) player of the week honor Monday, as selected and announced by the league office Monday.

The selection was Weir's eighth of her career, as the senior has taken five of the last 12 honors given out. Weir had a solid week for the Hornets, who won all three of their contests. Weir scored the game-winning goal Wednesday in a come-from-behind victory against Washington & Lee University, before notching the game-tying goal against St. Mary's (MD) College Saturday.

Weir would finish the week with a two-goal performance in a 4-1 win over previously undefeated Wesley (DE) College. Weir edged closer to the career Division III record of 120 goals, as Weir scored five goals to move her to 117 for her career. She has scored at least one goal in every game this season, and has four multi-goal games on the campaign, two coming this week.

Weir and the 8-2 Hornets will entertain the Vixens of Sweet Briar College for Homecoming this Saturday on Shellenberger Field at 1 p.m.
