Lynchburg Volleyball Knocks Off Guilford College in Straight Sets

                LYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg College volleyball team won its fourth straight match Wednesday, dispatching of Guilford College in straight sets in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play from Turner Gym.

Michelle Boucher had a team-high 12 kills for LC Wednesday.                The Hornets (10-1/3-0 ODAC) jumped out early on the Quakers, winning the first game 25-16. LC then knocked off Guilford with a 12 point deficit in game two, before taking the clinching game 25-18.

                Lynchburg was paced by Michelle Boucher's (Chesapeake, VA/Nansemond-Suffolk) posted 12 kills, while Chelsea Jones (Richmond, VA/Monacan) finished with six kills. Freshman setter Brooke Moughon (Mathews, VA/Mathews) posted a double-double of 18 assists and 12 digs, and Savannah Tinsley (Lynchburg,VA/E.C. Glass) dug up a team-high 17 Guilford attacks.

                Freshman Rebecca Loftis (Coventry, CT/Coventry) continued her solid play in the middle, finishing five times while posting two solo and two assisted blocks for LC. The Hornets start of 10-1 is the best since 1981, when they also started out 10-1 on the way to a 25-2 final mark.

                Lynchburg is back in action this weekend as it travels to Atlanta, GA for play in the prestigious Emory University Tournament. Lynchburg will battle the No. 3 Eagles and Shorter College Friday, as well as taking on Thomas More and Washington and Lee University Saturday.
