Lynchburg Breezes to 3-0 Men's Soccer Win Against Randolph

Ryan RenfroLYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg College men's soccer team breezed to a 3-0 win against cross town rival Randolph College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action on Saturday night.

A Randolph (1-5-1/0-1-0 ODAC) foul in the box led to Josh Reed (Newark, DE/Caravel Academy) being awarded a penalty kick which he converted to give Lynchburg (5-1-1/1-0-1 ODAC) a 1-0 lead. Ryan Renfro (Forest, VA/Brookville) notched his first goal on the contest in the 39th minute as he fired a shot into the back of the net off a Pat Brown pass to provide the insurance goal. Renfro then added his second goal of the night in the 44th minute to provide the final margin.

The Hornets outshot the Wildcats 17-9 and held a 4-1 edge in corner kicks. The fouls were even as each team recorded 14 violations and each team had three saves.

LC travels to Bridgewater, VA, on Wednesday to face ODAC foe Bridgewater College at 4p.m.
