All International Applicants Should Submit:

  • Application for Admission - May be submitted online or paper application

  • $30 Application Fee or Apply Free Online

  • Official University Transcripts(for International Transfer Applicants only) - Must be submitted to WES for course evaluation if classes are completed outside of the United States. Please include grades for all college courses completed; an explanation of the college grading system; and corresponding grade point average.

  • Official High School/Secondary School Transcripts - Must be submitted to World Education Services, WES, for course evaluation if they are non-English transcripts.  Please include grades for all courses completed during each year of secondary school; a listing of all senior-year courses and most recent senior grades; an explanation of the secondary school grading system; rank-in-class (if available) and corresponding grade point average.

  • Official SAT/ACT Scoresor TOEFL Scores - Forward your official test scores which may include Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL), the Scholarship Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Test (ACT). International students are advised to take the SAT/ACT when possible; admissibility and scholarship eligibility are made based upon this information.   

  • Certificate of Finance - Submit completed form by fax, e-mail, or mail. 

  • Banker's Letter - Ask your bank to submit a letter, on bank letterhead, stating that there are sufficient funds in the sponsor's account(s) to support the information submitted on the Certificate of Finance.  Please submit this letter by fax, e-mail, or mail.


Strong International Candidates Should Have:

  • Completed of a minimum of 16 academic courses

  • A solid B grade point average

  • A minimum of 525 on the paper-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or
    a minimum of 197 on the computer-based TOEFL or
    a minimum of 71 on the Internet-based TOEFL

  • A letter of recommendation from your high school/secondary school counselor or a teacher, supervisor, or other person who can speak to your ability to succeed at Lynchburg College (Must be submitted via mail or e-mail. No special form required)

  • An essay, written on the topic of your choice, or a graded writing sample from your junior or senior year (May be submitted with your paper application or e-mailed to admissions@lynchburg.edu)

  • Note: An interview with an admissions counselor is optional and may be conducted by telephone. Call the Office of Enrollment Services to schedule an appointment. 434/544-8300 or e-mail admissions@lynchburg.edu
