  • Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 gigabyte RAM
  • Minimum 120 gigabyte hard drive (80 gigabyte for laptop)
  • DVD/CD-RW drive
  • Windows Vista Home Premium (Windows XP Pro acceptable)
  • Microsoft Office 2003 or 2007 with PowerPoint
  • All new computers come network ready
  • Network cable - Category 5, (25ft recommended length)
  • Anti-virus software - **REQUIRED** (The College provides free AVG anti-virus software for all students.)
Macintosh Desktops and Laptops:
  • Intel Core 2 Duo processor
  • Minimum of 1 gigabyte RAM
  • Minimum 120 gigabyte hard drive (80 gigabyte for laptop)

  • Mac Operating System 10 (OS X)
  • Microsoft Office 2004 or 2008 with PowerPoint
  • All new computers come network ready
  • Network cable - Category 5, (25ft recommended length)
  • Anti-virus software - **REQUIRED** (ACCEPTABLE vendors - Symantec)

SPECIAL NOTE: Computers with Windows Vista Basic or Home Premium do not support access to specialized resources on the College's network. To get access to those specialized network resources will require Vista Business or Ultimate edition.

IF YOU ARE BRINGING A USED COMPUTER

Supported Minimum Computer Configuration for Students (if you are bringing a computer from home):

  • Intel Core Duo or equivalent [PC or Macintosh] (1.6 GHz or higher for laptops)
  • 512 megabytes RAM
  • 60 gigabyte Hard Drive (minimum 200 megabytes available hard drive space)
  • DVD/CD-RW drive
  • Windows XP Professional or Mac OS 10 (X)
  • Microsoft Office 2003 or Microsoft Office 2004 for Macs
  • 10/100 network adapter
  • Network cable - Category 5, (recommended length - 25ft)
  • Anti-virus software - ** REQUIRED** (The College provides free AVG anti-virus software for students with PC's.)

Connecting to the College Network

Information / instructions on connecting to the College’s network will be provided during the Fall check-in.  You will need a network cable (exact specifications are above) for your residence hall room or a wireless network card for College-owned houses.
