
The Lynchburg College men’s and women’s cross country teams were well represented on the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Academic All-American list, which was released recently.
Junior Ricky Flynn (Gaithersburg, MD/Damascus) represented the Lynchburg College men’s cross country team in style Saturday, as he finished 14th overall, earning All-American accolades in the 2008 NCAA National Meet hosted by Hanover College in Hanover, IN at the L.S. Ayres Complex.
The Lynchburg College men’s cross country team, ranked third in the region, finished sixth out of 19 team in the NCAA South/Southeast Regional meet Saturday. The meet was run on the campus of Texas Lutheran University over an 8K course.

Washington and Lee University earned seven first place votes in the 2008 ODAC Men’s Cross Country Preseason Poll, topping the annual survey with 95 total poll points. Lynchburg College came away with two top billings and 83 total points while 2007 runner-up Bridgewater College trailed its Hornet counterparts with 82 points and the remaining top tally.
