US News & World Report's "America's Best Colleges 2010" ranks Lynchburg College in the top tier of southern colleges and universities that offer a full range of undergraduate programs and master's degrees in the "Best Universities - Master's" category.
This is the sixth consecutive year that Lynchburg College has been ranked as a top-tier master's degree institution. LC was ranked 38th. Only nine Virginia schools are included in the top tier.
Lynchburg College fared particularly well with a 72 percent freshman retention rate, 12-1 student-faculty ratio, and 68 percent admissions acceptance rate.
The 269 institutions in the top tiers are ranked within four geographic areas: North, South, Midwest, and West. A total of 572 institutions are listed in all tiers of the Best Universities - Master's category. The rankings can be viewed at www.usnews.com.
