Lynchburg College will receive $118,731 from the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges (VFIC). The foundation has announced the awarding of grants totaling more than $2.7 million to 15 leading private colleges in Virginia.
"These grants will have a tangible impact on Virginia's private colleges," said Dr. Kenneth R. Garren, president of Lynchburg College. "Given the state of the economy, these grants are extremely important, beneficial, and timely."
A 57-year-old organization with a strong track record of support for the commonwealth's private colleges, the VFIC grants underwrite student scholarships, capital improvements, and budget support.
