LC Athletic Department Announces Team Academic Award Winners
LYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg College athletic department recently announced the team grade-point average awards that are released each summer. There are five awards - teams with 15 members and less (male and female), teams with 16 or more (male and female), and the Co-ed teams. Certificates are issued to the winners in each group and a plaque listing of the teams will be posted in the trophy case in Turner Gymnasium.
15 team members and less:
Men: Tennis
Women: Women's Cross Country
16 and over:
Men: Men's Lacrosse
Women: Softball
Co-Ed Teams:
Equestrian
"We stress the complete student-athlete here at Lynchburg College - balancing performance on and off the field," said Lynchburg College director of athletics Dr. Jack Toms. "We like to recognize those teams that really stand out above the rest and reach an academic level that all teams can strive for."
