LC Men’s Track Competes at UNC Saturday
CHAPEL HILL, NC – The Lynchburg College men’s track team sent a select few athletes to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Saturday, as some tried to qualify for the NCAA Championships late this month in the Chick-Fil-A Elite Meet hosted by the Tar Heels of UNC.
The Hornet 4x400 relay team, comprised of Rashard Adams (Ashburn, VA/Stone Bridge), Evan Ellison (Atlanta, GA/McCallie), Brandon Edwards (Warrenton, VA/Fauquier) and Earl Graves (Richmond, VA/Hermitage), ran a 3:15.24 on the afternoon. That time is currently the third-best in the nation as of Saturday, and provisionally qualified the team for nationals.
Distance runner Ricky Flynn (Gaithersburg, MD/Damascus) competed in the 1,500 meter run, clocking a time of 3:56.31. The time was also the fourth-fastest in Lynchburg College history.
The Hornets are scheduled to travel to the Marietta Last Chance meet this Tuesday in Marietta, OH.
