Hornet Track Competes at Liberty Twilight
LYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg College men's indoor track and field team competed Thursday night at the Liberty University Twilight and had several outstanding performances.
The 4x400 meter relay tea, of Rashard Adams (Ashburn, VA/Stonebridge), Evan Ellison (Atlanta, GA/McCallie), Brandon Edwards (Warrenton, VA/Fauquier) and Earl Graves (Richmond, VA/Hermitage) qualified for NCAA National competition with a 3:16.35 to win the event. Freshman Kevonte Warner (Scottsville, VA/Buckingham Co.) finished the 110-meter hurdles in 15.29, and both he and Mark Chauteh (Falls Church, VA/Bishop O'Connell) had personal bests in the 200-meters (22.70 and 22.69, respectively). Chauteh completed the 100 in 11.32 and Craig Burkholder (Harrisonburg, VA/Turner Ashby) also had a personal best of 57.05 in the 400-meter hurdles. Edwards leaped 22.02.25" in the long jump and James Bell (Huddleston, VA/Staunton River) cleared 15'3" in the pole vault.
The Hornets are scheduled to compete at the Washington & Lee University Multi-Meet Friday and Saturday.
