LC Places Sixth at ODAC Golf Championship

LC Places Sixth at ODAC Golf Championship

            CAPE CHARLES, VA - The Lynchburg College golf team finished sixth overall after Monday's final day of play at the 2009 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships, held at Bay Creek's Arnold Palmer Signature Course. Washington & Lee University won the team title, and Peter Latimer from Guilford College captured the individual crown, firing a three-day score of 225, 10 strokes ahead of the nearest competitor.

            Michael Butzgy (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place) paced the Hornets on Monday with a score of 77, and also led LC overall with a 239 (tied for ninth overall). Conrad Anguera (Lynchburg, VA/Carlucci American Institute) tied for 18th overall with a 246, Ryan White (Round Hill, VA/Loudoun Valley) close behind with 247 and Augie Camacho (Suffolk, VA/Lakeland) fired a 257. Joey Brunet (Virginia Beach, VA/Kellam) carded a three-day total of 264.

            The Championship rounds conclude the 2008-09 season for LC.
