ODAC Baseball Tournament Set
Lynchburg Heads Familiar Tournament Field
April 19, 2008

SALEM, Va. --- The 2009 ODAC Baseball Tournament seeding is set with a hint of familiarity to it.  The top four seeds remain unchanged from the 2008 postseason tourney as Lynchburg College (25-12 overall, 14-4 ODAC) heads a six team field complete with the same squads from last season's tournament.

Virginia Wesleyan College (23-12, 12-6) and Randolph-Macon College (17-17, 12-6) used conference tie-breakers to separate their tournament status with the Marlins receiving second billing and R-MC the third slot.  Bridgewater College (21-15, 11-7) again sits in fourth while Hampden-Sydney College (18-17, 10-8) and Washington and Lee University (18-12, 9-9) flip positions with the Tigers seated in the fifth chair and W&L as the field-capping sixth squad.

Lynchburg's historic City Stadium, home of the minor league Lynchburg Hillcats, will again play host to each of the contests in the tournament's double-elimination format.  Play begins on Thursday, April 23 and runs through championship Sunday on April 26.  The first of Thursday's three games begins at 11:00 a.m.

Listed below is the schedule for the 2009 ODAC Baseball Tournament.  Due to the double elimination format, play on Saturday and Sunday could be altered depending on the number of teams remaining in the field (scenarios outlined on tournament website).

For more information on the tournament, visit any of the participating schools' websites.  You can also visit the ODAC on the Internet at www.odaconline.com and view the tournament's website from the homepage.  You may also click HERE to visit that website.
