Emory & Henry Women's Tennis Upends LC Ladies 6-1

EMORY, VA - The Lynchburg College women's tennis team fell Sunday to Emory & Henry College 6-1, as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match was played to decision.

Krysten Bishop teamed with Elizabeth Eckert for LC's lone win Sunday.                The Hornets (2-13/1-7 ODAC) won their first pairing of the afternoon, as Elizabeth Eckert (Annandale, VA/Annandale) and Krysten Bishop (Big Rapids, MI/Big Rapids) teamed to win 8-4 in No. 1 doubles. Lynchburg was also close to winning at No. 2 doubles, but Jessie Moore (Salem, VA/Glenvar) and Clare Wallendjack (Kensington, MD/Walter Johnson) fell 8-5.

In singles action, Moore took her first set in the No. 2 spot 6-0, but dropped set two before falling in the super tie-breaker 13-11. Bishop battled at No. 3 singles, but eventually fell in straight sets 6-4 and 6-1. No. 1 and No. 5 singles play was halted after the match was decided.

Lynchburg will travel to Bridgewater College Monday afternoon to battle the Eagles of BC at 3:30 p.m. for another ODAC match.
