#2 Roanoke Lacrosse Takes Care of LC 19-12

LYNCHBURG, VA - The second-ranked Roanoke College men's lacrosse team controlled the second half of play Saturday night en route to a 19-12 victory over #14 Lynchburg College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.

The Hornets led 7-6 at halftime, behind two goals from senior attack Tyler Tolson (Lutherville, MD/Loyola Blakefield). The second tally broke the 15-year school record for career goals, topping Mike Marchetti's '94 career record of 162. Tolson added two second-half scores and now stands at 165 for his career.

Lynchburg scored quickly out of intermission, as Eddie Bilinkas (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) scored his third tally of the contest to give LC an 8-6 lead. The Maroons would dominate the remainder of the second half, outscoring their hosts 13-4 the rest of the way.

Bilinkas and Tolson both finished with four goals for Lynchburg, and Dylan Hoff (Chester Springs, PA/Downingtown East) added two goals and an assist. Ethan Farrell (Nantucket, MA/Nantucket) posted a goal and two assists while Michael Mundorf (Cambridge, MD/Mt. Saint Joseph) had two helpers.

Face-offs were key for Roanoke's success. Greg Khanzadian won 18 of his 23 opportunities and RC controlled 25-of-33 for the game. Matt Quinton led the Maroon offense with four scores and an assist and Pat March and Chas Carlson each found the back of the net three times. March add four assists, and Trey Keeley added two goals and two assists. Roanoke stays undefeated thus far on the season with a 14-0 overall record and a 3-0 record in the conference.

Lynchburg (8-4/2-1 ODAC) looks to get back into the win column Wednesday against ODAC foe Hampden-Sydney College. The first face-off is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be carried, weather permitting, via webcast at http://pointers.audiovideoweb.com/asxfiles-live/1c2winlive6909.asx
