Hornet Women's Track Competes at Liberty and Duke
LYNCHBURG, VA and DURHAM, NC - The Lynchburg College women's outdoor track and field team sent individuals to both Liberty University and Duke University Saturday.
Sophomore Daphne Desrosiers (Pembroke Pines, FL/Killingly) broke her own school record at LU, running a 12.51 in the 100-meter dash, and also clocked a 26.26 in the 200. Christina Washington (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook) ran a personal-best time of 58.82 in the 400 while Olivia Johnston (Cranbury, NJ/Princeton) placed third in the 400-meter hurdles in 67.86. Chevonne Booker (Richmond, VA/Thomas Jefferson) ran the 200 in 27.22 and Krystle Landes (Staunton, VA/Wilson) was fourth in the javelin with a heave of 33.23 meters.
Jennie Pernisi (Camden, NY/APW) paced the LC runners at Duke, recording a time of 18:52 in the 5,000 meters. Lindsay Fender (Fork Union, VA/Fluvanna) finished the same event in 19.56.
The Hornets will host the Lynchburg Classic next Saturday.
