Hornet Trackster Brandon Edwards Takes Home League Honors
SALEM, VA - Senior sprinter Brandon Edwards (Warrenton, VA/Fauquier) was honored Monday for his weekend performance at the Fred Hardy Invitational as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Athlete of the Week.
Edwards adds this award to one he earned during the indoor season. Edwards was the first D-III finisher in three events at Richmond's Fred Hardy Invitational. He finished second in the 400 hurdles with a time of 55.80 on Friday.
Saturday turned out to be just as fruitful for Edwards as he took fifth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.14, while also finishing fourth in the 200 meters with a 22.25. The latter set a new ODAC top-time. The Fred Hardy Invitational was comprised of mostly Division I teams, including VCU, William & Mary and Pittsburgh.
