RICHMOND, VA - The Lynchburg College men's outdoor track team competed in the Fred Hardy Invitational Friday and Saturday, hosted by the University of Richmond at Sports Backers Stadium.

John Michael Pavia had a great day in the hammer throw Friday.                Senior Brandon Edwards (Warrenton, VA/Fauquier) had a solid day on Friday evening, as he finished second in the 400 hurdles with a time of 54.01, moving his name into the third spot on the all-time list. John Michael Pavia (Forest, VA/Jefferson Forest) also had a strong finish in the hammer throw, earning fourth place and fourth spot on the LC all-time list with a heave of 147 feet, 1 inch.

Saturday turned out to be an exciting day as well for the Hornets, with many top finishes. Edwards took fifth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.14, while also finishing fourth in the 200 meters with a 22.25.

Evan Ellison (Atlanta, GA/McCallie) earned fourth place in the 400 meter dash, running a 50.82, and Reid Taylor (Midlothian, VA/James River) was sixth in the 800 meter run after clocking a 1:57.94. Sophomore Ryan Van Alstine (Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) set the new 3000 meter outdoor LC record, running a 8:38.12 for a 12th place finish.

Freshman James Bell (Huddleston, VA/Staunton River) and Kavonte Warner (Scottsville, VA/Buckingham Co.) finished seventh (16.09) and eighth (16.28), respectively in the 110 meter hurdles. Bell also finished in sixth place in the high jump clearing six feet, three inches.
