Katie Ollice            LYNCHBURG, VA - Junior Katie Ollice (West Chester, PA/West Chester) scored with 12 seconds on the clock to cap a thrilling 12-11 come-from-behind victory for the Lynchburg College women's lacrosse team Tuesday night over Marymount University in non-conference play.

Lynchburg led 6-5 at halftime scored the first goal out of the break, but yellow cards seemingly put the Hornets in a hole they wouldn't be able to crawl out of. The Saints took advantage of two Lynchburg yellow cards (three-minute un-releasable penalties) to net four-straight goals in three minutes and take a 9-7 lead with 23 minutes left in the game. The teams swapped goals twice to bring the score to 11-9 with 15:45 left to play, and three additional yellows forced LC to play two players down for the final 7:08.

Despite playing short-handed at crunch time, sophomore Morgan Logue (Barrington, IL/Barrington) found the back of the net with 3:20 and 2:20 on the game clock to tie the game at 11. Lynchburg gained possession and held for a final shot before Marymount was whistled for a foul to give Ollice a free-position attempt for the game-winner. Following Ollice's goal, sophomore Patty Sheahan (Lutherville, MD/St. Timothy's) was awarded possession of the subsequent draw control to seal the victory.

Ollice scored four goals with an assist for LC, and Logue tallied three goals and two assists. Deana Welsch (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) also had three goals, and Lindsay Gengras (Avon, CT/Avon) and Elizabeth Jackson (Baltimore, MD/IND) each scored twice.

Marymount (3-5) had five different players score twice: Springanne Hatfield, Sara Horne, Shantelle Valdez, Aimee Michaels and Lindsay Quinn. Lynchburg out-shot the Saints 36-27, while Marymount controlled 13 of the game's 25 draw controls.

The Hornets (5-2) host Christopher Newport University Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
