"Communicating with Teenagers: Practical Tips" is the subject of a talk by Dr. Tim Rambo, assistant professor of counseling, at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, March 26 in Hopwood Hall.
The free workshop is part of the "Counselor Talks" series presented by the Lynchburg College Center for Family Studies.
Communicating with teens is often a unique challenge and source of bewilderment for parents with common barriers to effective communication derailing our best intentions. The good news is that new behaviors and language can be learned that can help us move more easily through the normal ups and downs of the relationship.
This presentation will offer information and suggestions for parents to further develop personal skills and behaviors that can improve communication and strengthen the relationship. If you've had enough frustration and silence, or simply want to deepen your connection with your teen, you're not alone.
