Hornet Softball Sweeps E&H 13-0, 15-3

            LYNCHBURG, VA –The Lynchburg College softball team continued its winning ways Saturday, sweeping an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) doubleheader 13-0 and 15-3 at Emory & Henry College. The Hornets extended their winning streak to eight games with the pair of victories.

            Senior Barbie Miles (Kinsale, VA/Washington & Lee) worked all six innings in the opener, striking out five while just allowing one hit and one walk. Rachel Gallagher (Warrenton, VA/Fauquier) was 2-3 with two runs and Katie Bruce (Lanexa, VA/Lafayette) was 2-4 with two RBI. Amber James (Manahawkin, NJ/South Regional) drove in  three runs and scored twice.

            The second contest lasted just five innings, as Lauren Duquay (Williamsburg, VA/Jamestown) doubled, homered and drove in four runs. Audra Della Rosa (Rumford, RI/St. Mary Academy Bay View) and Tara Campbell (Leesburg, VA/Loudoun County) each went 3-4 with an RBI, and Campbell scored twice. Bruce was 2-3 with two runs and two RBI and Gallagher was 1-1 with a walk, two runs scored and an RBI.

            Lynchburg (13-4/4-0 ODAC) travels to Eastern Mennonite University Sunday for another ODAC twin bill at 2 p.m.
