Women's Tennis Competes in South Carolina and Georgia Over Spring Break

The Lynchburg College women's tennis team competed in tournament action in Hilton Head, SC, Savannah, GA and Beaufort, SC over the Spring Break week. The Hornets saw action in four matches and were handed defeats by West Liberty State, Olivet, Marion College, and Mount Union.

In Hilton Head, the Lynchburg women saw an 8-6 win in #2 doubles against West Liberty State, led by Jessie Moore (Salem, VA/Glenvar) and Clare Wallendjack (Kensington, MD/Walter Johnson). In #4 singles competition, Wallendjack took her opponent to a third set and earned a hard-fought 6-0, 7-6, 7-5 victory. However, the Hornets lost the match by a score of 2-7.

Wallendjack won her spot in #4 singles play against Olivet, posting a 6-4, 6-3 victory. Moore earned Lynchburg's only match win against Marion College, securing a 6-3, 6-4 victory.

The Hornets were defeated 8-1, 8-1, and 9-0 against Olivet, Marion College, and Mount Union, respectively.
