Hornet Catcher Chris Colquhoun Takes Home ODAC Player of the Week Award
SALEM, VA - Sophomore backstop Chris Colquhoun (Virginia Beach, VA/Salem) earned LC's second conference league baseball honor as he took home Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Player of the Week accolades as released by the league office Monday.
The second-year catcher has been one of LC's most consistent offensive contributors so far this season, hitting .457 with four homers and nine doubles. Last week, he was nine-for-16 (.563) with seven RBI and a pair of doubles. He highlighted his week with a four-for-six, four RBI contest against the Jumbos of Tufts University on Friday.
On Tuesday, Colquhoun had two hits in a loss to Stevenson University (MD) before collecting three hits in a win over Penn State-Harrisburg on Wednesday. He currently has hit safely in all but one game this year, and has 11 multi-hit games along with a current six-game hitting streak. Hornet hurler Bryan Breedlove (Suffolk, VA/Nansemond-Suffolk) earned Pitcher of the Week honors last week.
Lynchburg (11-6/2-0 ODAC) is back in action Wednesday night for its annual contest at City Stadium with Ferrum College. First pitch with the Panthers is set for 6 p.m.
