This award, honoring Dr. Carey Brewer ’49, the seventh president of Lynchburg College, has been presented since 1983.

Eligibility requirements: A candidate must have earned a Lynchburg College undergraduate degree or, in special cases, have attended the College at least two years and have been graduated from an accredited college or university. The candidate must also have received an undergraduate degree within the last fifteen years and be younger than forty years of age. 

Criteria for selection: Each recipient of the Carey Brewer Alumni Award must have made an outstanding contribution to one area of society. Contributions may include, but are not limited to, the areas of professional, civic, religious life, or service to alma mater. Past recipients include R. Marc Jordan ’69, Richard D. Jacques ’71, Susan Michele Boucher ’87, ’90 M.Ed., and Myrna Foster-Kuehn ’81.
