"Vector," a brass and percussion ensemble from the Air Force Heritage of America Band, will perform chamber music, country and western, big band and Dixieland jazz, Broadway show tunes, and Top 40 hits at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 18 in Sydnor Performance Hall, Elliot & Rosel Schewel Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

Vector was created in 2008 in response to the military's growing need for mobile, troop-focused ensembles and the American public's greater desire for high-energy entertainment.

A musical fusion of conventional brass quintet instrumentation and interactive programming, this six-to-eight person hybrid is equally capable of instilling esprit de corps at formal military occasions as captivating audiences of all ages with innovative arrangements and movement.

Each member is a seasoned, versatile performer with education and experience from around the globe. All five brass players were featured on international stages with multi-faceted Air Force musical organizations stationed overseas. The percussionist recently returned from an unprecedented stint with Heritage Aire Celtic Ensemble in Southwest Asia supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom and the Global War on Terrorism.
