LC Women's Lacrosse Falls 11-8 to Kenyon

            ORLANDO, FL - The Kenyon College women's lacrosse team scored the first six goals of the game Wednesday and held on to defeat Lynchburg College 11-8 in a game played at Disney's Wide World of Sports.

            Jackie Sherriffs netted three of her game-high four goals in the first 18 minutes to give the Ladies a 6-0 early lead and KC held a 7-2 edge at halftime. Kenyon led 11-4 in the closing minutes, but the Hornets scored four times in the final four minutes to pull within three.

            Sophomore midfielder Patty Sheahan (Lutherville, MD/St. Timothy's) led the LC offense with three goals and one assist, and Deana Welsch (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) also found the back of the net three times. Berry Morse (South Hamilton, MD/Brooks School) and Katie Ollice (West Chester, PA/West Chester) also scored for Lynchburg.

            Emma Stending scored twice for Kenyon (2-0) and Chase Krueter made 12 saves.

            The Hornets (2-1) host Frostburg State Saturday at 2 p.m. in more non-conference play.
