Hornet Hurler Bryan Breedlove Tabbed as ODAC Pitcher of the Week

LYNCHBURG, VA - The No. 14 Lynchburg College baseball team received its first individual honor of the season, as junior right hander Bryan Breedlove (Suffolk, VA/Nansemond-Suffolk) was selected as Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Pitcher of the Week as released Monday by the conference office.

Breedlove, who is in his first season as a Hornet after transferring from ODAC rival Hampden-Sydney College, had a 2.25 earned run average in two games last week. On Thursday, he worked the first inning of a 4-1 loss to North Carolina Wesleyan College.

He sparkled on Saturday though, as he tossed a complete-game 10 hitter, fanning five in a 6-2 win over Emory & Henry College.

For the season, Breedlove leads LC with a 2.14 ERA, allowing a team-low six earned runs in just over 25 innings of work. He also has 22 strikeouts on the young season, starting a team-high four games. This award is Breedlove's second career, as he received the same award last year as a member of the Tigers.

Lynchburg battles Stevenson University on Fox Field Tuesday at 3 p.m. in non-conference action.
