Deana Welsch Nets Career Goal #100 as LC Wins 17-3 over Shenandoah

  Deana Welsch          LYNCHBURG, VA – Senior Deana Welsch (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) scored three times Friday evening to give her 100 for her career as the Lynchburg College women’s lacrosse team defeated Shenandoah 17-3 in non-conference play.

            Welsch scored the first two goals of the game, both from Elizabeth Moulden (Annapolis, MD/St. Mary’s) to reach #99, but had to wait until five minutes into the second half before netting her 100th tally. Welsch also tacked on two assists.

            Katie Ollice (West Chester, PA/West Chester) scored three times and Lindsay Gengras (Avon, CT/Avon) posted two goals and an assist. Morgan Logue (Barrington , IL/Barrington) found the back of the net twice and Kit Russell (Potomac Falls, VA/Dominion) and Moulden tallied a goal and two assists each.

            Kierra Nicholson, Rebecca Hibble and Ashley Heroth each scored for Shenandoah (1-2).

            The Hornets (2-0) will face Kenyon College Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Orlando, FL.
