The Black Theatre Ensemble of Lynchburg will stage For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf by Ntozake Shange (1975) on March 6-7 at 8 p.m. and March 8 at 3 p.m. in Hopwood Hall Auditorium.

The play consists of 20 poems performed by a cast of nine nameless women -- each known only by a color -- dealing with love, abandonment, rape, and abortion. The play contains mature language and themes.

The play is sponsored by the Office of Multicultural, Access, and Commuter Services (MACS) and the Lynchburg College Gamma Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
