To Go Greek Or Not To Go Greek...
So, should you Go Greek? Going Greek is a personal decision. We encourage you to do some investigating - go through recruitment and ask honest questions of yourself. Fraternity/sorority life is not for everyone, and it is important to consider your decision before you make the commitment.

Here are some opinions from faculty members at Lynchburg College about Greek Life:

"Greek organizations are a spectacular way to gain leadership experience and create friends with shared values with whom you will enjoy a lifelong bond...Being Greek doesn't MAKE you anything different but it can help you become who you want to be."
-Matt Brandon, Associate VP for Development & Alumni Relations

"I know that fraternities and sororities offer exceptional opportunities for LC students in learning and practicing leadership skills. Another of the most important skills highly prized in the business world is that of the ability to work as a constructive member of a team. Holding office in fraternities and sororities provides a realistic laboratory for members to learn these two skills within a supportive community of Lynchburg College. Leadership and working as a team member are not "spectator sports" but rather require opportunities to both learn, to experiment, and to grow. The fraternities and sororities of LC are fairly unique in that all are connected with national organizations and that all have quite significant expectations in community service for the fraternities and sororities members, an expectation quite consistent with LC expectations of an educated graduate of this beloved institution. Beyond these advantages are the social aspects and the bonding for life with a very special group of brothers and sisters."
-Dr. Kenneth Garren, President of Lynchburg College

"Greek life provides our students with an environment that cultivates leadership and service, two core values of Lynchburg College. Students who choose to espouse these values, live in community with other men and women, and are exposed to experiences that will transform their lives as well as the greater Lynchburg College community."
-John G. Eccles, Vice President of Student Development and Dean of Students
