Lynchburg  Men Fall 68-53 To Hampden-Sydney in the First Round of the ODAC Tournament

 HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA - The Lynchburg College men's basketball team fell 68-53 to Hampden-Sydney College in the first round of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament.

 The Hornets and Tigers were tied at 34 going into intermission and LC was down just 51-48 with 8:28 remaining, but HSC held Lynchburg to just five points the remainder of the contest to pull away and secure the 15-point victory. Mason Wooldridge (New Canton, VA/Fork Union) paced the Hornets with 13 points and eight rebounds while KC Mendez (San Antonio, TX/Winston Churchill) tacked on 11 points and four rebounds.

 Turner King of HSC (13-13) posted 16 points, eight boards, and four assists to go along with 14 points and 11 caroms from Shayne Payne and 12 points from Ben Jessee. Defense keyed the victory for HSC - holding the Hornets to just 35.2% shooting and only two attempted second-half free throws. The Tigers were 51.1% from the floor and 45.5% from the three point line.

 Lynchburg concludes the season with a 4-22 overall record and a 2-14 mark in the ODAC.
