#1 Salisbury Men's Lacrosse Breezes Past #6 Lynchburg 18-6

LYNCHBURG, VA - The No. 1 Salisbury University Sea Gulls defeated sixth ranked Lynchburg College 18-6 in men's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon.

Salisbury opened the scoring 44 seconds into the contest as Kylor Berkman found Mike Winter for a goal. Ethan Farrell (Nantucket, MA/Nantucket) answered back with a goal by beating his defender one-on-one. SU took control of the game from then on out, scoring the next 10 goals while holding LC without a goal until 5:18 left in the third quarter.

Dylan Hoff (Chester Springs, PA/Downington East) had a solid game in his collegiate debut, scoring one goal while assisting on two others and Kevin Donahue (Ipswich, MA/Tabor Academy) tallied one score and one helper. Freshman goaltender Franc Cook (Milton, DE/Cape Henlopen) stopped seven saves in net.

The Sea Gulls were paced by Kylor Berkman who notched four scores and three helpers. Jake DeLillo, Mike Winter, Sam Bradman, and Stephen Krasco each put the ball in the back of the net twice. Johnny Rodriguez played 46 minutes in the net and posted 11 saves with just four goals allowed. Salisbury (2-0) outshot Lynchburg 48-27, maintained a 43-30 advantage in ground balls, and won 14 of 27 face-offs.

The Hornets (0-1) host Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday at 1 p.m.
