LYNCHBURG, VA - Fans of the Lynchburg College athletic program won't have a hard time finding a game on campus this Saturday. No less than four Hornet teams will be in action at home tomorrow, with two campaigns starting and two regular seasons coming to an end.

The softball and men's lacrosse squads open spring play Saturday at 1 p.m. on Moon and Shellenberger Fields, respectively.  The LC softball team won its second-straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) title in 2008 and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament's Finals in Salem, VA. After boasting a 39-8 record last spring, the Hornets are ranked eighth in the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association pre-season top 25 poll. LC hosts Meredith University on Saturday.

The men's lacrosse team also captured the conference title in 2008, advanced into the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time, and finished the year 16-3. The Hornets are ranked sixth in Lacrosse Magazine's pre-season poll and open Saturday with the top-ranked team in NCAA Division III, Salisbury University. The Sea Gulls have won the last two NCAA Division III titles and are on a 46-game winning streak.

The Lynchburg men's and women's basketball teams close out the 2008-09 regular season with a doubleheader Saturday. The Hornet men face Bridgewater College at 3 p.m., and three seniors and two cheerleaders will be honored prior to tip-off. The LC women will follow at 5:30 p.m. against conference foe Hollins University at 5:30 p.m.
